You may need DOE energy calculations specific to your region (  http://www.energycodes.gov/), a site plan with the house located on the lot, and/or a septic plan (if not connected to sanitary sewer).

In Hurricane and earthquake prone areas you may need to obtain additional engineering or architectural review. This must be done by a registered architect or structural engineer in your state or territory. New York, New Jersey, Nevada and parts of Illinois require this as well. Your local building official in most cases can provide you with a list of the information necessary. Because codes and enforcement vary greatly from region to region, state to state, county to county, and even city to city, your local building department is your greatest source of information.
